Good Bye 2015, Hello 2016

Happy New Year 2016 Tosca

Good Bye 2015, Hello 2016

It is time to say good bye 2015, hello 2016.

For the Tosca Ristorante team it’s been a bit of a roller coaster year with lots of changes and some sadness too.

At the beginning of the year our long term plans came to fruition and the work began to refurbish the whole restaurant. Literally from head to toe! It started with the replacement of front windows and doors. Whilst the old restaurant front was being taken out we managed to get the pizza oven in before the new restaurant front was installed. Goodness, what will happen if we ever need to replace it?

Along with the pizza oven, new bench seats along the two walls where the pizza oven is situated has been installed. The whole restaurant had new softer eco-lighting fitted and decorated throughout.

You can take a Google Virtual 360 tour of the refurbished Tosca Ristorante

You’ll have noticed the new branding of Tosca Ristorante has taken place. We were getting fed up being mistake for a national Italian restaurant chain. So we now hope our distinctive logo and branding gives us a new look and sets us apart from the other Italian restaurants not only locally but nationally too.

We took this opportunity of change to update our menu too. Obviously being an Italian restaurant we still need to serve pizzas and pasta dishes, that our regular guests have come to expect. We let the chefs have a play around with some of the more traditional dishes to update them and give them a more modern flavours. The reviews have been very good. Talking of reviews we achieved for the third running to the Certificate in Excellence from the review website TripAdvisor. The only Italian Restaurant is Shoreham to achieve this.

At the end of August we, like everyone in Shoreham, were greatly sadden by the Shoreham Airshow disaster. The airshow has become part of Shoreham life, a significant date in the diary for many people, So it was such a shock for the community to have such a tragic event occur so close to us. The Saturday following the crash, we could not quite believe the number of people who turned up in the town to light a candle along the Adur Ferry Bridge, the queue stretched pass us along the High Street to the Norfolk Bridge. Our thoughts and prayers go to the bereaved families, friends and colleagues of all those men that died.

Come November our spirits were lifted greatly. Enver won the ‘Place to Eat’ award at the Johnston Press South Business awards 2015 at the Grand Hotel, Brighton. Enver was very pleased to receive the award saying: “I am especially grateful to receive this award in recognition of the hard work put in by me and the Tosca Ristorante staff. Also a big ‘Thank you’ goes to our regular guests who have supported us for over 11 years in Shoreham-by-Sea”.

Our website had a makeover too along with the ever popular takeaway service. This is constantly growing with the new online ordering website being developed further.

As for 2016 expect more changes as Enver progresses his ideas and opportunities to develop the Tosca Ristorante. If you haven’t been in a while, you must put a date in your new 2016 diary now to dine with us and see for yourself the changes made!

We hope you all have a Happy and Prosperous New Year!

Enver Godanci and the Tosca Ristorante team – the local multi award winning restaurant in Shoreham-by-Sea!
